A new price in the till and an old price tag on the shelf: that leads to discussions at the checkout. With Product labels you print your labels from the same data as the rest of Narrow.TV. Change a price in your catalog, print just the new label, and everything matches again.
How it works
- Open Product labels in the dashboard.
- Select your products. Search by name, filter by category or show only products with a barcode. For each product you set how many labels you need.
- Choose the format and content. You see a preview of your labels right away.
- Print through your browser's print function, on a label printer or on A4 label sheets.
Formats
On a label printer you print one label at a time, from the roll:
- Brother DK 62 × 29 mm
- Labels of 58 × 40, 50 × 30 and 40 × 30 mm, for example for a thermal label printer
- A custom size, if your rolls have different dimensions
With a regular printer you print on A4 sheets:
- Label sheets with 3 × 8 labels of 70 × 37 mm
- Shelf cards, 2 × 4 per sheet, of 105 × 74 mm
Sheet already partly used? Choose which label to start at, so nothing goes to waste.
What goes on the label
You decide what appears on your labels:
- Product name and price, from your catalog.
- Was price, struck through next to the new price, for promotions.
- Barcode: EAN-13 or EAN-8, or Code 128 if the code is not a valid EAN. Scan the product at the till straight from the shelf.
- QR code, for example linking to the product in your web shop.
- A line of text, such as "each" or "per kg".
- Your shop or location name.
You can adjust the text size, so long product names fit neatly too.
Prices per location
Several shops with their own prices? Choose the location you are printing for and the labels get that location's prices.
One catalog, the same price everywhere
Product labels uses the catalog you already have in Narrow.TV for the POS, the order kiosk and your digital menu boards. You keep products and prices in one place. Do your products come from another system, such as your web shop? Keep your catalog in sync through the Narrow.TV API.
Digital shelf labels coming later
Digital shelf labels (ESL) are on the roadmap. They update their price automatically as soon as you change it in your catalog, without printing. Until then, you print your labels with Product labels.

Frequently asked questions
Which printer do I need?
A label printer, such as a Brother QL with 62 mm DK rolls, or a thermal label printer for 58 × 40, 50 × 30 or 40 × 30 mm labels. With a regular printer you print on A4 label sheets, for example from Herma or Avery. You print through your browser's print function, so you do not need any extra software.
Which barcodes are supported?
EAN-13 and EAN-8 when the product code is a valid EAN, and Code 128 otherwise. You can also add a QR code to the label, for example linking to the product in your web shop.
Can I use up a partly used A4 sheet?
Yes. You choose which label to start printing at, so the labels still on the sheet do not go to waste.
I have several shops with different prices. Does that work?
Yes. You choose the location you are printing for, and the labels get that location's prices.
Will there be digital shelf labels?
Yes, digital shelf labels (ESL) are on the roadmap. They update their price automatically as soon as you change it in your catalog. Until then, you print your labels with Product labels.
