A separate till next to your order kiosk, QR ordering and menu boards means keeping your products and prices up to date twice. The Narrow.TV point of sale uses the same products as the rest of the platform. You need no special till hardware: a tablet or PC with a browser is enough.
How to get started
- Create a register in the dashboard.
- Open pos.narrow.tv in the browser on the tablet or PC you want to use as the register.
- Pair the device with the code from the dashboard.
- Log in with your PIN. Every staff member has their own PIN, so you can see who handled which sale.
Checking out
Add products with one tap on the product buttons, per category, or scan the barcode with a USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner. Options such as size or sauce are chosen in the product. Then take payment:
- Cash: enter the amount received and the register calculates the change.
- Card: the customer pays on your existing card terminal. You enter the amount on the terminal yourself; there is no card terminal integration yet.
- Split: part in cash and part by card.
Open orders from Scan & Order and the kiosk
Did a customer order through Scan & Order or the Instore Order Kiosk and choose to pay later? Then the order is waiting in the register. You settle it at the counter and it disappears from the list of open orders.
Receipts, refunds and cash movements
- Receipts are printed through the browser on a printer for 80 mm receipts.
- Refunds are booked as counter-entries. The original sale stays in place, so everything can be traced.
- Cash in and cash out: record when you add change to the drawer or take money out.
X and Z reports
The X report shows how the day is going at any moment. At the end of the day you close with the Z report: revenue per VAT rate and per payment method, and the difference between the cash that should be in the drawer and what you count.
Recorded so it cannot be changed
Every sale is stored in a journal secured with a hash chain, so it cannot be changed. Editing or deleting a receipt afterwards is not possible; corrections are always a new entry. This helps you keep your till records in line with the Dutch tax retention rules.
Staff and overview in the dashboard
- Staff log in with their own PIN and have the role of cashier or manager.
- In the dashboard you see the sales, the daily reports and your staff.
- The register itself works in six languages: Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish and Turkish.
One set of products for the whole platform
The register sells from the products in your dashboard: the same products, product options, VAT rates and stock as your order kiosk, Scan & Order and digital menu boards. Change a price and it is correct everywhere at once.
For hospitality and retail
The register suits a lunchroom, café, takeaway or restaurant, as well as a shop where you ring up products with a barcode scanner. Combine it with the kiosk and Scan & Order, or use it on its own.
Available in the Netherlands
For now the register is only available to businesses in the Netherlands, because the tax rules for registers differ per country. Other countries will follow.

Frequently asked questions
What equipment do I need?
A tablet or PC with a modern browser. A barcode scanner (USB or Bluetooth) and a printer for 80 mm receipts are optional. Receipts are printed through the browser's print function.
Is the register connected to my card terminal?
Not yet. You use your existing card terminal and enter the amount on it yourself. In the register you record the payment as a card payment, so it appears correctly in the daily report.
Can I settle Scan & Order and kiosk orders at the register?
Yes. Orders where the customer chose to pay later are shown as open orders in the register. You settle them there, in cash, by card or split.
In which countries can I use the register?
For now only in the Netherlands, because the tax rules for registers differ per country. Other countries will follow.
Can I change or delete a sale afterwards?
No, and that is intentional. Every sale is stored so it cannot be changed. A refund or correction is booked as a counter-entry, so it is always clear what happened.
